PARISH STAFF - Biographies

My name is Robert Charles Gagnon (Chuck). I am 57 years old and married to my beautiful wife Sue. We have four sons who are also married, with families of their own. We have five grandchildren, three boys and two girls. We currently reside at 9501 Georgetown Lane in the Village of Lakewood. I attended Elgin High School and graduated from Ellis Business College in 1965. I was ordained a Deacon by the Archdiocese of Chicago in 1979.

I am an accountant by trade. I worked for Unocal 76 Corporation in various accounting management positions for over 30 years, from 1966 to 1998, in both the Chicago and the Los Angeles offices. I am currently employed at the University of Chicago, in the Comptrollers office, processing Gifts and Endowments, looking forward to retirement some day.

I began my Deaconate service at St. Peter Damian parish in Bartlett, IL. Since then I have served in the Diocese of Orange California, at St. Joseph's in Placentia, and currently in the Diocese of Rockford, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish here in Crystal Lake, IL.

I have been involved in a number of different ministries over the past twenty years, including Marriage and Family Life, Drugs and Alcohol Abuse, Family Support Groups, Liturgy Committees, Baptismal Preparation, Welcoming Committee, Parish Accountant, assisting at Mass, Baptisms, Weddings, Funerals and Wake Services, Stations of the Cross and in setting up a Deaconate Program in California, along with baptismal preparation programs in various parishes around the Chicago Diocese. I am currently involved in the Ministry of Care Program, and Welcoming Committee.

Over the years I have been involved in various organizations and activities, like the Cub Scouts, coaching Little League Baseball, The United Way, and St. Vincent DePaul. Currently my hobbies include fishing, playing golf, bowling and FISHING.
